Teachers and librariesTeachersWouldn't it be nice if you could give free copies of books to your students, - now you can. The magazine format allows most full text books to be reproduced in a relatively few pages, and can therefore be copied or duplicated. Our first priority listing includes all books we can identify that are on exam syllabuses, so if you want a book that you do not see on our first lists, then please tell us about it. If we don't have it, it may still be in copyright and we may not have permission to include it, but ask anyway. Shortly you will see a link from this page to listings and positions, and on that we will tell you what we have been asked for but are unable to provide. LibrariesThe simplest way to use our books is to just have an internet terminal that allows access to us. A faster and better service to your clients will be able to be provided by mirroring a copy of our site onto your own server, allowing internal high speed access. This process is very simple to set up and maintain, and requires minimal computer expertise, its designed to be able to be run by a librarian without any help. In practice most will get some help in setting up and pointing to it within their system, from your own staff support arrangements, and then be able to maintain it easily themselves. In addition to the indexes by author, title and topic we also have topic rooms and a monthly book club with reviews. Competitions and more will follow. Downloads of e-books is initially in two formats, one for the Microsoft ebook reader, free software that works on any windows based system, and the other running in a Adobe pdf format that can be read on line or printed. The pdf format is a multi column, magazine style that prints a whole book over a few A4 pages with space for punching to include in a ring binder. All ebooks are to the same standard as commercial e-books and have fully designed covers, to create as much interest as possible. Watch this page for links to the Librarians own section. |
